Lake Water Level
December 1, 2024 - The graphs illustrate the elevation of the water in Pine Lake using the data taken from our monitoring well located on property 32. The level of water in this well is very close to the level of water in Pine Lake. This data has been reported to Waushara County Land Management since 2013. Additional measurements will be posted as they are received, usually around the first of each month.
Curly-Leaf Pondweed
Be on the look out for curly-leaf pondweed. Yes, I’ve seen it and pulled it already from our lake for the last two years. The ecologial threats:
It invades freshwater lakes, ponds, rivers, streams.
It can become dominant and invasive due to its tolerance for low light and low water temperatures.
May outcompete other underwater plants and become dominant, which causes problems due to the formation of dense mats that interfere with recreational activities.
It also causes an increase in phosphorus concentrations, causing an increase in algae blooms and a pile-up of dying P. crispus along the shore.
